# Make your agent's output on brand

You gave your agent the tokens, the components and the guidelines, maybe your Figma file over MCP, and the output still does not look like you.

## It has your design system. It still isn't your brand.

The blue is right and so is the font. But the hierarchy is flat where the page should lead, and loud where your brand is calm. The output is competent and consistent. It is not yours.

## Access is not judgment.

Figma's MCP server lets an agent pull variables, components and layout data from your file. That is access, and it is useful.

But a design system was written for a person who brings the judgment. The system gives the vocabulary, and the designer decides how to use it. An agent gets the dictionary and is asked for poetry.

## The decisions that are not in the file.

- This card holds a lot, so it needs more room around it.
- This is a settings page, not a marketing page, so the hierarchy stays flat.
- These sections are related but distinct, so they read as a set and still stand apart.
- The tone here is calm and functional.

A designer makes calls like these without stopping to think. None of them is in the file, the tokens or the component API.

## A saddle on a dragon.

In How to Train Your Dragon, the dragon flies again once it has a tail fin built for how it flies. A design system is closer to a saddle: built for the rider, the person who brings the judgment. Agents need the judgment itself, in a form they can use while they build.

## What on-brand output needs.

- How your brand feels, in a form the agent can hold while it builds.
- What this page should look like, decided by what works for this kind of page.
- Which rules hold and which can flex.
- The same brand in every session, without pasting it in again.
- A check on what comes out.

## Questions.

### Do I have to give up Figma or MCP?

No. Keep both. The agent needs judgment as well as access.

### Won't a better model fix this?

The gap is not intelligence. The judgment was never in the file, so a smarter reader of the file still misses it.

### Isn't a longer prompt enough?

It works for a page or two, then the next chat drifts. [Why longer prompts stop helping](https://designless.io/learn/anti-ai-slop-design).

## Where Designless comes in.

The Designless Agent brings that judgment into Claude Code, Codex and Cursor. It reads your brand from a versioned Brand Capsule in every session, the Designless Language Model carries the design judgment, and Arbiter checks pages against your rules, on request or before every delivery when your brand requires it.
