LESS: the Layered Expression Style Standard

LESS is the technology layer within Designless for expressing a brand as a standard agents can read. It gives the Designless Agent a shared brand to work with, so a team can carry its design judgment across the work it makes.

1. A shared reference for the work

A brand needs to remain recognisable across a website, an app and the work an agent creates. LESS exists to give that work a shared reference, so each new piece does not depend on a new interpretation of the brand.

2. The brand the agent works with

A Brand Capsule is a published expression of how a brand should look, feel and speak. The Designless Agent uses it when making work for that brand. The team keeps ownership of the brand while its agents work from the same published expression.

3. One published brand across surfaces

One published Brand Capsule can serve websites, apps and agent-made artefacts. The brand is shared across those surfaces, while each piece has its own purpose and audience.

4. Releases people can choose

Brand Capsule releases are versioned. A team decides which release reaches each environment, keeps a reviewed version in place there, and can return to an earlier one.

5. Access for agents

LESS MCP gives compatible agents access to Designless's expression infrastructure. The agent can work with the brand the team has published, while the person stays in control of the work.
